Yamaha NS-430 high pitch sound from mid-range drivers

I recently acquired a Yamaha system which consists of a CA-410 amp, a CT-410 tuner, a YP-211 turntable and a pair of NS-430 speakers. I traded everything for my Akai AM-U02 receiver.

I didn't test everything yet but I plugged the speaker to my Toshiba SA-300 and I hear a high pitch sound from the mid-range drivers on the speakers. I tried to plug my source in a different input, same result. I don't think this is from my amp since it worked great with my other speakers.

I didn't had a chance to open the speakers yet, but I was wondering if anyone has encountered something similar in the past.

Have a close look at the crossovers. If both channels are the same. I'd also try a different amplifier.

Got to be either the amplifier or someone has altered both crossovers.
