Local to Syracuse NY? Then run and get these YAMAHA NS-690II Speakers. BIN for $139 or best offer....the silly pricing and local pickup only will have these vanish in no time, even with one reconed woofer. RUN!

Beautiful pair of vintage YAMAHA NS-690II Stereo Speakers. Superb 12" 3-way systems housed in heavy air-tight enclosures with genuine walnut wood veneers. These are similar in design to classic AR 3a's, KLH 4's and other high performance acoustic suspension speakers, and eventually evolved into the still much sought after Yamaha NS 1000. Considering their age, they are in excellent condition with minimal blemishes or marks on the beautiful cabinets (even bottoms are in great shape). The cloth grilles are held by plastic posts which have worn over time and are no longer tightly held in place, although the grille cloth itself is still intact and presentable. Hear the full range of music reproduced with stunning clarity from the lowest bass notes to the highest audible frequencies in a pair of classic speakers that you will be proud to own and display. One woofer was professionally re-coned. Speakers are in working condition however vintage electronics have no warranty and are sold as is. These are also being advertised locally and are for local pickup only, because of weight and high shipping cost.

That's a crazy good price. Zilch measured these having an absolutely flat frequency response. I've been listening to my pair for the last year non stop. They are just nice speakers.

I've had original 690s and a pair or two of 690II's. People get so excited about old JBL L-100's, HPM-100's, and Advent's when these old Yamaha's are light years ahead in terms of sonic accuracy, balance, and imaging. There is very little comparison. Why these are still for sale at a chump change price is beyond me. Even in need of a woofer they are still cheap:scratch2:

No big deal if you have to refoam them. $25 or so for a kit, a 9v battery and a little time is all it takes. :D
