Anyone have....did have or know about this table?

Not a ton online.

I "need" a fully auto table.....health reasons and this was a response to a "Wanted" ad on a local site.

1 owner .....table essentially mint .....cover needs some attention (long story) and it has a very low hour (50 hrs or so) Shure M95HE on it.

Thanks!

There was a whole thread a while back with tips and tricks for this series of tables.

The main issue seems to be that the vertical bearings in the tonearm tend to get gunked up over time. seems a relatively simple fix if you're willing to do the work. Adjusting the vertical bearings in most tonearms (this one included) is much less risky than doing the horizontal bearings.

Cheers,
Nathan

Thx Nathan....in fact a friend just sent me that thread....so it's here for reference.

Here's a pic of the actual table....

That table looks to be in great shape. Nice that the cover is in so clean a condition. I would suspect from looking at it that it was well cared for and is probably a great deal as long as the price isn't too high.

when isolated they are a very nice little table and can be done up a little with damping the inner underside of the plinth with cork and double sided tape. I did that on mine, as well as plumbers tape on the arm for a little extra and then wall hung it. I was using a Stanton 881S MKII on the table as well. There are aftermarket head shells for the table to use more than 1 cartridge without having to change everything out. They run about $25.00. The feet were the only real knock on it as not being that good, so you can also upgrade them if you wanted, but doing the mods above as I did helped with things in set up.

I also have a P-750 with a Shure V15 type V. The only issue I have with them are the damn hinge springs on the acrylic cover hinges. The spring eventually pokes through the plastic hinge and loses its tension.

I have the P751 Direct Drive quartz lock full auto version.

Sounds dam good and I love the VTA adjust capability. As mentioned, it needs to be carefully isolated as the feet are not great.

I recall that the Denon DL 110 sounded really great on that table.

Thx....then my new DL-160 will be a great fit.

Yes it should be. Just get the vta correct, tonearm parallel to record is the best place to start. I track the 110 at 1.8 grams and start with 0.9 a/s and tweak from there.

This table came with an overhang gauge. If you don’t have it use a protractor.

Where does one get a “new” DL160?

From a chap here in Canada who purchased a few when they were being discontinued back in the day.
He was getting out of vinyl and I was the fortunate individual who was able to grab this.....it actually has about 10 or 15 hours on it as he removed it....tested it and then re-boxed it ...so I lied I suppose....it's not quite new - sorry! :)

The DL-160 will be a nice fit as well on it. If you have a test record, you can really dial things in with it.

I have a P-700. Same basic idea as this one, slightly different model series. Some of the parts may be the same IIRC. Should be a nice sounding turntable when set up right.
