Yamaha pair united in love

This C-2x is one very fine preamp. No doubt about it. Worth looking for if quality sound is your aim. You can hear Jewel inhale on This Way. Yeah, she's cute, too.

Am I just hard to please?

tr-mandak,
Oh yeah! The 700C doesn't just move the goalposts,it takes things to another dimension.
I went to a Hi-Fi/AV store yesterday because I was in the neighbourhood(100+ kilometers from where I live).I've bought stuff there last year,a $1300 purchase.Any way a non-audiophile friend of mine was with me.He's heard my system prior to purchase of 700C(prior to PX-2,and B-2) but not since.
We listened to a system comprising Ayre CD,ASL tube pre,Krell(FPB 600?)power and JM Lab Utopia ALTO Be.
Was I impressed?NO,NO,NO.
I'm sorry, even though we are comparing CD to analogue(the way I listen to my system 99.99% of the time),the sound didn't hold a candle to what I hear at home.No contest,slam-dunk,shut the door,NO CONTEST.
My friend said the same. I told him it sounds a lot better now. :thmbsp:

Theophile I hope you are wrong, the Kenwood would look stupid in my Yamaha stack :)

Maybe I can rip out the inside of my C-60 and build in a 700C.... :scratch2:

Where did you find that Yamaha that it was so dirty? That is some spring cleaning

Funny, that's what I am thinking, where did I find that thing.

Well he said it had been stored away for 4 years, I just have to tell him not to put anything at the same place.
