Yamaha PC4002M sold for $262!

The mass of the thing really precludes non-local buyers from taking the plunge.

IMO, if the seller was willing to ship and had one good photo of the unit in a quality box, supported by proper packing, it would have sold for much more.

I was watching it too. A shame, if the shipping would not have been 400$ to the EU it might have been mine, while I scored the PC4002M recently listed in the UK for nearly twice the price, which for my experience still was a nice deal. The last PC4002M I saw on the bay in EU changed it's owner for over 1.000$. Mine will be on it's way next week... arrghhh can't sit still. I'm excited how it will be beside all my PC2002Ms (3 already, why???) and my MX-1s.

What? Only three PC2002M's?:D

Dang it, I was stuck on the tarmac in JFK and was so upset and frustrated that I completely forgot all about the auction.

Maybe this will pop up again.

There's some monkeyshines going on, sometimes sellers cancel out unexpectedly low final bids for unknown reasons (ahem...greed).

There's currently one in BT, and all things considered, it's a far better deal than any that will sell on ebay.

Considering the BT deal, the final on this ebay auction wasn't all that low. I know which one i'd buy in a heartbeat.

The ebay one had a questionable description. However, it was worded in such a way that you could test and if not working, back out of the deal. I wouldn't want to ship 95 pounds of boat anchor.

Crap! Didn't know about this one till your post. Only 35 miles from me. For sure, if it works, its a smoking deal :tears::tears:

Greetings, this is my first post, as I found this thread and joined.
Realize this is rather old thread but I am the one who got the amp and will add more later. To summerize yes it is a great deal, in more ways than one.

Hi snowleopard,

Welcome to AK! Obviously, you must be reasonably local to SoCal to have picked up that bad boy. We'd love to hear the story about your purchase and encounter after so long a time. And of course pics!

When you've a chance, post away and share your good fortune. Plenty of us love these big Yamaha pro amps.

Regards,

Bart

Congrats, I remember this amp and it was only 10 miles from my home. I thought $262 was a smoking deal but I wasn't bidding because of the unknown condition and because I have acute amp poisoning from having so many.

Anyways, did this amp end up working as sold?

Listened to my 2002 yesterday. Would like to hear the 4002 someday. What speakers do you hook it up with?

I am up north just short of Sacramento.
I drove down to pick it up and made other stops along the way.
The amp came from a nice music/sound production studio, and from what I saw and told it was gently used and well cared for.
I was asked not to drop the name, but can say just the op to visit this studio was worth the trip and price of amp.
I feel VERY lucky to have won it. If others had bid, someone or I would have paid ALOT more for it .
The amp checked out fine and is pretty clean. I will tackle adding some new pics along with ones just after I picked it up.
I really havnt tried it yet in a hi fi sense. Just briefly tested it feeding through a Yamaha mixing board, driving some older
JBL e and m series musical instrument / PA drivers in variety of enclosures, from a synth and bass/guitar.
Will add more when get back off road, and thanks for welcome.

Congratulations, you had a really great deal.
Now since over a year has passed, I'm still completely happy with my 4002 from the UK and enjoy it everyday. Let us know what you think of yours soundwise. And welcome to AK! Yes and pics please :)
