Yamaha PF-800: Need Help in identifying a stray lead

I removed the tone arm assembly by loosening three 3mm allen bolts and saw a stray black cable with a terminal that appears to have been severed and thus not connected to anything. I checked and it is not a ground. Any idea what it could be? I'm hesitant to remove the floating panel assembly.

It’s a ground wire with eyelet missing.

Can’t remember where it attaches but 99% sure that’s what it is.

Bet you can find the eyelet somewhere as well. Still stuck where it should be.

Ended up removing the floating panel assembly. The wire is for grounding the spindle. I looked every where for the broken terminal without success. Noticed that grounding is only available on the circuit board and the control housing. No ground anywhere else, including the housing for the motor. Trying to figure out the best place for attaching the wire (the floating panel assembly includes the spindle).

Conected to the ground wire that goes to the preamp. I checked the resistance value between the spindle and the ground. Getting about 30 ohms. I believe the resistance is due to lubricant between the spindle and the bearing. I am wondering whether conductive lubricant should be used to lubricate the spindle bearing. Anyone use conductive lubricant?
