Yamaha px-3 first impressions

No, it was just fine as I got it, its problem was not lubrication but the three optical switches that determine where the arm is positioned.
 
So to clarify once more: on the PX-3 the correct cart overhang is 50mm or 52 mm? Does it matter what cart or headshell you are using? I remember reading somewhere here in a past thread that the Denon tables use a 50 mm overhang ( which is correct and stated in the manual ), and the PX-3 uses a 52mm overhang ( this is not stated in the manual...i believe). So does anyone know for sure if the PX-3 uses a 50 or 52 mm overhang?

The proper overhang for both the PX-3 and PX-2 is 50mm. Simple way of checking, if you have the original mat with the six grooves. Rotate the platter and measure from the rear of the plinth to the outside edges of one lateral groove. Get the platter so that opposite ends of one groove are equi-distant from the rear (or front) of the plinth. Now send the tonearm over the outer edge of the platter without the headshell in place. Measure the distance between the end of the arm and the groove. That was how I set mine up until I fianlly got the manual.
 
How do you find the Denon cartridge in the PX2? I know this is an old thread but maybe you still around it.
