Yamaha PX-3 Not "Cut" or "Repeat"

Yamaha PX-3 No "Cut" or "Repeat"

I have a Yamaha PX-3 that save the "Cut" and "Repeat" button is fully functional.

Any idea as to why this would be? I've cleaned all the buttons but I really don't think this is the problem.

Anything else I should be looking at?

Thanks

Eric

Turn it off and on. Cycle through the buttons and let the arm go all the way to the spindle and back.

Good luck

I have similar problems with my PX-3 like the topicstarter has, but in some more weird way. When I press the Cut button, the operation automatically switches over from 33cm to 17cm, 17 cm indicator lights up and tonarm goes up and moves to the begining of a 17 cm record and continues to play.

The Repeat button doesn't work at all.

The tonearm was professionally serviced by Professor Bizzt. I guess it could be some control board's problem.

Could I get any help on solving this?

Unlike the PX-2 the PX-3 uses Tact switches and I have found that the only way to really clean them involves removing the control board. Once you have the board out you will see very small openings either side of the "button". Get Deoxit into those openings and cycle the Tact switch several times.
