Yamaha R-2000 – outages, expander issues

Spatial Expander has crackling noises when turning expander knob, sometimes even complete outages. Only turning it off solves it. Issues persists after two repair shops took care of it.

Also, Phono sometimes randomly turns on even if the automatic Phono selector is turned off.

Unit works great otherwise. Love it!
Any ideas/suggestions on the above issues?

Since we're on it: was there ever any remote with this unit?

Dirty control most likely.. As for the random phono switching. A dirty sticky button may be the culprit.

Lots of times I have to disassemble switches to really get them clean.

Pull circuit board behind spatial switch. Use dexit straw to squirt solvent oioii in square openings. Rotate knob full range
