I'm planning on replacing my current 2000 Yamaha A/V receiver with either their new RX-A2010 or the RX-A3010 receiver. What are the main features that seperate the 2 top-end Yamaha receivers?? Yes, I'm looking for a great sounding receiver, but since this receiver will be the "heart" of my A/V system, I'm also looking for one with a very-very good video processing system since my Blu-Ray, DVD and even a Laser Disc players will be directly hooked up to it, which it's up-scaling processor must be better than average for receivers within that price range of $1400 to $2000.
I was also looking at the RX-A1010 receiver, but I read that its video processer(s) wasn't that great, slightly better than average and not up to the same levels of Yamaha's 2 top receivers or other A/V receivers within the price range of the RX-A1010.
I'm not too worried about having this receiver to operate within various seperate zones around my house since its soul purpose with simply be a one room system, hooked directly into my Sony 55" LED monitor. My main video source will be a Oppo BDP-93 player... I really don't need to many "high-speed" features since I will most likely never use most of them anyway.
This will be my third Yamaha receiver since 1987 and my first two receivers were the RX-1100 and the RX-V2095, which are still going on very strong, even to this day, so I'm sold 100% on Yamaha receivers. I normally would go for the flag ship model, but I'm also hoping to purchase a new seperate 2 channel system (Yamaha's A-S2000 and CD-S-2000.) this year too... I will be retiring sometime in late 2013 or early 2014 and these 2 systems will most likely be my last "new" audio and video systems.
