Yamaha RX-V660 FM Tuner repair help

Hi all,

One of the times when I really don't know what to do.

I have this Yamaha RX-V660 receiver. Everything works, but not FM tuner. AM tuner works perfectly (full signal), and it's on the same card as FM (3 small PCB connectors connecting the card to the rest of the receiver).

There is no output in 'auto tuning' mode, and when switched to manual tuning on a known good station, just hear hiss.

The receiver uses standard 75-ohm FM antenna connector on the back. Sometimes, very rarely, I was able to get a full signal out of FM even using a piece of wire, but I can't replicate it. It feels like the antenna is not connected at all.
I checked continuity of coax connector - both inner and outer pieces have continuity to the solder joints on the board. Resoldered a bunch of connections - nada. Electrolytic caps on the board look fine, not leaking or bulging.

Any help or leads are appreciated! Thank you!

Got a scope? A dmm? Can you solder? First thing I would do is measure the DC voltage on the AM/FM front end IC to see if it's got the proper voltage going to it.

Yes, I have all the test equipment - dmm, scope, etc. It looks like the problem was on the pins between the main tuner PCB and the small metal-covered PCB. I resoldered all those pins and the signal is solid. I'll keep playing with this receiver for a couple of weeks to see if it really fixed the problem.
