I’m trying to record to a Yamaha KX-W362 from a Yamaha CDC-645 CD player using the SYNCHRO function as described in both the CD and KX manuals. The process from the CD manual indicates that when a CD is selected and the Synchro button on the remote is pressed the CD indicator should blink (which it does) and the KX should go into a REC/PAUSE mode (which it does not). The KX manual also says the the SYNCHRO light on the CD display should appear which it does not (the manual doesn't indicate where this light should be).
Both units are side by side so the remote signal should be reaching both simultaneously. Also, the recording function on the KX works just fine when used normally. I’ve searched and searched this feature with no results so it could be that it’s just not used very much however I can see a definite use for it.
Is there something fundamental that I’m missing here?
Cheers
