Yamaha T-60: no display lights

Picked up a Yamaha T-60 tuner at a local thrift. I had my doubts, as it apparently did not power up. But I figured for $2 what the heck. Turns out it works fine, just no display lights. I see nothing obviously wrong, such as a broken or disconnected wire, and no evidence of burn out. There is no fuse. Any thoughts on how to get the display lights running? Any input appreciated.

It is one of the notorious yamaha's with the small light bulb behind the display, commonly available at radioshack and common electronics supply stores. I had several yamaha pieces form that era that needed the light replaced, they used an LCD display instead of the common flourescent.
