Yamaha TC-520 - Replace stop/eject button

I bought a discounted Yamaha TC-520 cassette deck from Ebay. It has a bent Stop/Eject button.

Can this button be detached independently and replaced? Appreciate any leads you can steer me to.

Follow up question: Unit outputs a pulsating overdriven noise unless I hold down the REC MUTE button. Sounds normal with REC MUTE depressed. Diagnosis?

Could anyone tell me how to remove the Stop/Eject button? Outward force is not working.

I would remove the faceplate to see better. If the button is plastic-chances are there is a metal lever that it's attached to. The exterior of the 'button' looks fine. Perhaps just a firm bending in the opposite direction might be a solution-get the faceplate off any you will have a better idea of what's feasible.

Hi Wavey, I have the exact same unit (TC-520) and it has the exact same problem. It sounds horrible unless you press the "rec mute" button. Did you ever find a solution?
