Hi There, Yamaha people,

This is going to be an embarrassing post.
I rented a small space where I repaired audio stuff.
Last year, I had to move from that place because I couldn't pay the rent anymore.

I called the owner, and the next day he called me back with the message that he already had another tenant and I had to leave the place a.s.a.p.

So I had to clean out the room in a hurry. I had a lot of stuff there, and in the hurry of cleaning and moving the stuff, I mistakenly threw away a perfectly fine Yamaha M-85 top cover. Worst of all is that the M-85 was my brother's amplifier. So you can imagine that I am in deep sh..!

My question to you all is, does anyone know where I can get an M-85 top cover?

I hope somebody can help.

There's a couple people selling 85 parts on there. One of them, Ben's electronics something or other parted out a shipping damaged 85 awhile back. Not sure if he has the cover but I'd message him and see. It was probably tweaked a bit but worth a shot. Good guy, I bought a few pieces of it from him.
 
Wouldn't the M-45, M-60, M-65, M-80 also cover it? It's probably easier to find covers from those models. Same chassis I think but not certain of the cover.
Maybe form one from plexi-glass for that lustry look. :naughty:

I looked up Ben's Electronics and ended up on de Dutch website. But it only shows electronic parts.

I have the correct Ben's Electronics now :-) Same name also here in The Netherlands...funny

Found him!...but no cover....:rolleyes:
 
I'll add the M-40 to the post #5 candidates.

One could download the service manuals from elektrotanya of all aforementioned models comparing the part #'s . I'll bet all part #'s are the same. :thumbsup:

Another option would be to reach out to your local community college that has a program that would cover making such things. They would likely make one for you. Our local college that I now teach auto mechanics at does his type of thing all the time. It gives the students good practice. Me or someone else can provide measurements and pictures if needed.

This is a very good idea! I live in the Netherlands. I have to see if there is a community collage around here. But many thanks
