Yamaha YP-211

I'm putting a small system together for my neighbors 16yo son. I've given a Yamaha A-1020 a good once over, cleaning switches and getting rid some glue residue.... Works great!, btw, nice to see 3 pairs of Black Gates under the hood, a little 80's quality!

Now, on to the TT. It's a nice, clean YP-211 but, it's missing the anti skating weight. So.. what does anti skate weight weigh? I have checked the Vinylengine and any YP-211 threads but no luck. Any suggestions?

Until you can find the exact weight of the Yamaha YP-211 anti-skate weight, would a DIY weight or a ready made(approximately 4 gram) substitude be acceptable?

:scratch2:

I just weighed the one from my yamaha GT 750 and it weighs only 1.84 grams. Not sure if these are different from model to model. Maybe an existing YP 211 owner can weigh their's and let you know.

Saw this turntable at a thrift shop for €40 but didn't get it. Should I go back? As someone who doesn't want to spend over €100 on a used turntable, is there a good chance I'll find anything better than this? I already have a Shure M97xE cartridge, so don't need to worry about that.

I'm mostly worried about speed accuracy. How would I even know it's running exactly 33 1/3 RPM?

Thanks for that. Still not sure if I should buy this turntable but it seems that the usual going rate is much higher than the €40 I could get it for.
