Yamaha YP-701 production changes?

I have a YP-701 that I need some parts for. I found a parts unit on eBay, but for some reason, the interior is laid out differently. See the pics. I need the cuing arm assembly, which I think is the same, or at least appears to be. Top is my unit. The potential donor is below. The main difference is what I believe to be the stop/return mechanism. The white plastic boomerang in the middle. The parts I need are not electrical, so I don't think there would be much chance of it not working. I thought it might be a 700, but it is definitely labeled as a 701, 120 volts and all

No.
While changes during production are not uncommon, most are noted somewhere (e.g., service manual) and/or have been previously identified by users.
This one is a bit odd.
VE has a thread w/photo showing small 'boomerang' was used on YP-400; your 701 photo shows same part
This guy has a 701 w/big boomerang.
AND, the 700 service manual shows no boomerang.

I have a YP-701 & it needs some bench time. I will try to take a peek underneath to see what parts I have.
@Mr Boochie ?

Re: your need for 'non-electrical parts' - I would still be a bit skeptical of parts matching now that we have identified some differences. Perhaps you could ask for detailed photos of your specific interests from parts unit seller?

Are you sure that you have the correct person? I have never worked on a YP-701.

OK, my 701 looks like it has the same setup as the 400, except it doesn't have a cueing arm. I need the cueing arm lift post. I can pretty much see the part I need, and it looks identical to the eBay one. He's asking $75 and shipping would add another $40. I might see if he's open to offers. If yours needs any parts, let me know.

From the pictures, it just appears they relocated the muting leaf switches.

I would expect the top picture is the older model version as the main motor microswitch and the mute release would be actuated at the same time by the "boomerang" and may cause more of a spike noise.

The lower picture seems to show the mute switch may be activated by another part of the moving mech on the other side of the steel plate. That could allow for a delayed un-muting AND potentially a mute on lift/return as well. If that is the case (I've never seen or owned that model), you may be able to upgrade your unit with the parts unit.

Also, the top picture shows no holes for the revised placement of the operation microswitch. Usually revisions keep the 'old' holes and punch new ones, so my theory holds.

Yeah, that is a bit pricey for a post, but I understand your interest.
And yes, I am missing some parts - I need the 2x subweights.
If you get extras w/parts unit, I am interested & can help defer some of your cost.

Someone beat me to it..... I guess it's back to plan A, taking a hammer to the old one. If you need me, I'll be in the blacksmith's shop.
