Yamaha's Compresed Music Enhancer on their recent AVR's.

I was using the Internet radio tuner on my 2020 Rx V485 Network Streaming AVR and tried out the Enhancer function. Surprisingly it actually works improving bass and high frequency clarity, and a significant improvement in separation of instruments in the soundstage for compressed internet radio stations.

While FM has better sound quality then the internet stations I listen to, I can find music much more inline with my musical tastes from the web, and with the Enhancer activated the overall sound quality is much closer to FM then I anticipated. Do any of you use it.

Apparently other AVR manufacturers have a compressed music enhancer much like Yamaha's "Enhancer" function for the low bitrate files used for many internet radio broadcasts and MP3 files . They use the units digital sound processors to Artificially regenerate missing high-frequency harmonics and extend the bass.

Pioneer calls it advanced "Sound Retrevial (ASR)", Denon and Marantz call it "Restorer". If you have experimented with these, What was your experience.
