Yaqin MC-100b Post-stage mode?

Hello. Can someone please provide me with some info concerning the purpose of the front post-stage mode on the Yaqin MC-100b tube integrated amp. On the front of the amplifier there is a toggle switch, when pushed down (0.25v) it powers the four rear input connectors (CD.DVD,Tape and tuner). When pulled up (0.6v) it powers the right/left input connectors on the front.

The front works fine except it has considerable less power. I connected the TV to the front since I use it less so I can stream YouTube and Pandora music using Chromecast. I would appreciate some input (pun intended).

Hi,

Front inputs are designed to use with a preamp, (with more power than a simple source).

I don't know if this really bypass the first 12AX7 preamp tubes of the Yaqin.

You know, I really find this feature useless, and rather inconvenient. In order to switch between the front and back toggle you have to turn the amplifier off first, because if not it makes a loud pop through the speaks. Then you have to wait a minute to turn it back on so not to damage the tubes.

At first, I thought it was a phono stage preamp, so I connected the line out on my TT to it to no avail. So I bought a preamp and connected it to the tuner input at the rear of the unit. Much more convenient between changing formats.

Other than that, this unit works and sounds great at a truly reasonable price, and it looks pretty awesome too. Aside from this inconvenience, I'm very happy with it.

Domo arigato, mroboto.
