Yaquin 23 B socket

Super Member
I have had trouble with the Yaq 23 B socket on left side of pre amp. I am thinking if putting socket savers in the pre amp and that should help with those cheap metal wraps around the stock sockets. Also would get rid of those spring loaded shields that irritate me when trying to change out tubes on the phho stage. Sound like a good idea anyone ever do this with the Yaquin 23 B before. ?

I did not have on hand(any SSers) or I would have used them. But I think the fact is I had to get used to using the set up of the Yaq the way they made it. So I fooled with it again later and got the tubes set up correctly. I know the PAS 3X What I am using is stock on the phono stage end but compared to the Yaq I prefer the Yaq at this point. I know different tubes and so on. But from my listening point it was a better sound. I am sure if I put new boards in the PAS3X it would outperform the Yaq but I guess that is a topic of another post.

Yes I was told that just the other day yesterday about some cleaning to help things along. It is the simple stuff that helps so much. I am going to be doing that next week I hope as some more tubes have arrived for the power stage of my set up. Thanks
