I know I'm not supposed to discuss money, but it ain't for sale anymore, so I don't think it's that big a deal. The good news:

I JUST SOLD MY SL-10 THAT I PAID $120 FOR FOR FREAKING $375+shipping!!!

I'm pretty happy.

Good news Ben! Now maybe you can get the Sony fixed. :thmbsp:

(just make sure that you pack it well, or you will be on the wrong side of the poll in the other thread! ;))

Oh, I'll be packing it bomb-proof. I want to end up with both sides happy. :D I sure am! I now have enough money to make the first payment on my phono stage, get my Sony repaired, possibly buy that Yammie PX3, and maybe even build a plinth!

I enjoyed the Technics as my main 'table for a half-month while Mr. Deli was fixing my Widow. I enjoyed it, and that's a nice price to pay for a slightly less than 300% increase.

I figured. Nice sounding cart, just too detailed for me. Maybe a 2% increase than my VMR with much more revealingness, not good for some wornish records.

One of these days I'd like to hear an SL-10 side by side with my SL-5, wearing the same cart. I'm just curious how they compare.

Congrats on the sale.

SL-10 is a nice table. Haven't fired mine up in months, so I'm going to take this thread as a sign that I should throw on a record right now, :)

Congrats, SL-10s were never cheap. I sold several in the eraly 2000s.

But I like the SL-7 better.

To toot my own horn, I got $239 for an SL-7 with a new tonearm belt and cart.

a review excerpt from HiFi Choice magazine, 1983;
The SL7 was better still, giving improved detail, and it was also found to sound better than the original SL10.
