Your Favorite Low-Power (70s) Receiver

I love my Sherwood S7100A (17wpc x 2) as well as my S7110B (34 wpc x 2) . I've had both for years, not a hint of problems whatsoever. Speakers are Fisher, and Infinty and both pairs sound fantastic, I don't care for loud blaring music, mostly jazz, with some classical and easy listening, so this ensemble works great for me and the types of music I prefer to listen to. Anyone else a Sherwood aficionado ?

Good to know, if I ever have trouble, can I ship you mine for repairs? I don't have a repair technician.
 
For my purposes I will define low powered as sub-20 W/ch.

By this criterion I would choose my Sherwood S7100-A as the best that I have heard.
Excellent tuner too, and outstanding build quality as well.

I have a Pioneer SX-300 (Sound Project Model 300), that also is no slouch, though it pushes only 7 W/ch.
Even though this one is the very bottom end of Pioneer's x3x line, it is really pretty, sounds fine, and has a pretty sharp tuner as well.

I had a Realistic STA-430 a while back (10W/ch) that I thought was outstanding.

I have a Marantz Model twenty-Six (14WPC going into AR-4"s and a Onkyo Tx-3000 going into Dynaco-A25, I reverse the speakers in rotation. Both sound great!
 
Heathkit AR-29. Was also available as the separates AA-29 integrated amplifier (I built one in March of 1976) and AJ-29 tuner.

For a Pioneer, a SX 626 or SX 636 would be excellent. The Harman-Kardon 330 series would be very nice. The Fisher 201 another good choice. Sansui I'd lay off the PITA to repair tube model, and get a 1967-1969 30 watt or under model SS model instead.
