your favorite speakers with marantz power

imready

it's good to be the king!
friday i'm going to pick up some nice marantz components and i'm wondering what speakers would sound go with them . the components will be as follows:3250 preamp, 170dc power amp and a 2120 tuner. turntable will be a yamaha px-3 with a stanton 500 cart. i'd like to hear what you think sounds best with marantz behind it.

I'm also interested in this as I just got a 2275. Curently have Cambridge Soundworks Newton series M80's. I'd like some fuller base at low levels.

my paradigm monitor 7's absolutely sing with my 250 driving them and my 2252b serving as the preamp. SING i tells ya!:thmbsp:

My 2245 matches perfectly with my old KEF Ref 102/2.

My 2230 does well with some old AR's.

My 5200 and Paridigm Monitor 7's with matching center, rear and sub is the perfect match.

Also, I am very happy with matching my Sr7500 with KEF Q7s, Kef Q9 center and a Martin Logan Dynamo (IMO the most musical sub in its price class)

Well, I have a 170 and a 3250 on an old pair of Wilson Watt 2 & puppies. It's marvelous. Also connected a little pair of Kef Coda 9, and it was really cool.

I run my 2238B with a pair of Magnepan MG-1's and my 2215B with Paradigm Titans. I like them both for different reasons. The MG-1's I like for Jazz and some Blues, while the Titans I like for rock. There is a strong dichotomy for Magnepans, either you love them or hate them. Some folks around here have SMG which are quite affordable and sound fantastic if you like that sound. There are also some Paradigm fans around here too, I like them because I think you get a lot of bang for the buck, which as a student is pretty important for me. Cheers

At one time had a Marantz 1550 paired with a set of Marantz Imperial 7's and JBL L100's.It had a special synergy with that combo.

hm, i have some imperial 6's and some jbl L100's , maybe i will give that a whirl! picked up all three pieces of my new system today, not a scratch on a face plate! he gouged me on the price........$40 bucks! it's good to be the king!
never heard any of those wilson watt puppies but people always speak of them fondly. i hope i run into a pair some time!

For $40.00, I think you made out like an Audiokarma bandit!!!!! That's some serious gear! Congrats!:ntwrthy: Brad

i should be ashamed of myself .....but i'm not! i probably could have got it for $20, he just wanted it to be used, not end up in the trash. i checked these components on the ebay before i purchased them and figure they are worth $600-$800 on todays market. he said this equipment had too much power for the smaller house he now had. that is one of my favorites! i'm going to go get some air today and clean them up and see how they sound. i've got 4 marantz recievers in house but have never owned any marantz component equipment so this is very cool.
