Your Thoughts On Pro Audio Amps

QSC and Crown are both very well respected on pro audio forums. Based on what I've seen, it's about 50/50, with maybe a slight edge to QSC on the newer stuff. But, it also seems to depend on what models are being considered.

There are also some less familiar brands like Lab.Gruppen and PowerSoft, but those are uber-expensive. Even more than the higher-end stuff from Crown (like Itech) and QSC (PowerLights).

Me, I'm not particularly brand loyal. The stack contains all three brands the OP mentioned.

I think these particular Crowns do great on subs but the QSC seems smoother and cleaner on the mids and highs. The Behringer is the DCX2496 for active crossover/speaker management, with the Yamaha C-40 for preamp.

I'd also look at the Yamaha lineup of pro amps. I think they're some of the better looking ones and should be very decent, although perhaps not touring grade in the entry level models. But, then again, none of the brands generally list their entry level models as touring grade.
