Autoscan tuner does not detect stations

Hello to all and nice to meet you.

I have a Fisher Hi-fi(CAC G60) with poor FM/AM reception . Stations can be heard with scratches and noise.Plus auto scan does not pick up any radio station.
The system has a wire antenna for FM and an Antenna loop for AM. Could it be bad board where both antennas are plugged in?

I would appreciate and advice

Thank you

Is there a signal strength meter on the unit? If so, how high does it read when receiving a station?

auto scan requires a pretty strong signal to lock into a station. It could be a poor antenna, great distance from the stations or possibly an electrical problem with the tuner itself.

Not being able to auto tune is a classic sign of the discriminator zero alignment being off. If it never see's zero it does not know it is tuned to the station. Also an indication that a complete alignment should be performed.
