RCA CTC-31 console

I have not plugged this one in yet. Has brightener on CRT, probably will need new CRT.
Yesterday I plugged in this set and the chassis works fine...flyback is good. I can get a line on CRT when setting it to "service" but when actually set for a picture, the CRT is very dim. I will try to see if I have a 23" crt in better shape to put in this set.

New CRT has been installed! I found a 1971 RCA 25AP22/25XP22 that had absolutely no PVA problems. It's not perfect as far as brightness but is certainly decent. I'll save the old CRT in case I need a last-ditch replacement.

Nice set chad. Ive got the exact model. After seeing your set, I think its strange that RCA would use a chrome VHF and gold UHF dial knobs. I always thought the one on my set was a replacement of the wrong type. Guess thats the way they are supposed to be though.

Doug, I never noticed that till now! that one was silver and the other gold! This is a '67 model...I have some others that appear to be later models, like maybe '68 or '69: the control panel is slightly different, and the UHF knob is just a round knob, there is no "grip" part to it like on the VHF knob.
