Junkyard Zenith

This is a 1974 Zenith with 4 tubes. Got it from the last large item trash pickup. I challenged myself to get it working. The CRT base had been whacked with something but was still intact: the focus pin was totally missing. Was able to get the wire from the focus lead through the glass base to the metal nub and I had it working last November. I went to fire it up for the picture and the CRT was arcing in the neck and then the fuse blew...maybe gas in the tube, but will check CRT grounding. If I can get it resurrected again I will make a new cabinet for it.
I worked on this set some more yesterday and found the CRT neck was cracked. It must have gotten cracked on its trip to the dumpster and when I first tried it, the gas infiltration was not excessive, but as time went on apparently it got worse until the tube had no vacuum at all. I saved the mask and all components except the CRT and cabinet, which I disposed of.

I have now gotten this chassis to work with a Curtis Mathes delta-gun 25V CRT. Great color! Will post pictures of progress on project. Will build new cabinet and install Zenith chassis and faceplate with new CM crt.
