Hi guys,
I snapped a couple of pictures of my horn/set system this weekend.
The system consist of:
Sony 557 ESD CD player
PS Audio DAC
Foreplay Pre amp
3.5w Bottlehead Paramour 2A3 Mono Block Power amps.
Full range Corner horns. Covers from 50Hz and up. It is driven with an 8? bass-mid with no crossover and Neo 3 Horn loaded ribbon tweeter with 1st order cross over.
Below 50Hz:
First prototype of the Bassmaxx B2 HORN LOADED subs with a Seismic Systems 18 HK driver
driven in bridged mode by a Crown Power Base 3. The amp delivers around 1400watt. (I really don?t use it all) Also an active crossover only on sub channel.
I showed the pictures to some of my co-workers and everybody said, ?Hey those speakers are big?. Actually I would agree but taken that they fit into a corner they take up very little of the usable space in your living room. What would you fit in the corner any way, another plant, another lamp? If I remember correctly they stand about 7?-4? tall. Life sized performance = life-sized speakers. As for the sub, what can I say, I don?t really need it since the corner horns goes down to 50hz. It is nice to have that low-end torque when you need it. I love good fast bass. It also serves as a little stage for my kids if they want to perform in the musical arts. I suppose that a flat screen TV will go on top one day.
