  • Thanks for your help! One more newbie question: Looking at the schematic and comparing it to what others have done, it looks like many are using higher voltage and higher capacitance film caps than are in the service manual. For instance using .01 uf 50V film caps on C911-C912 instead of 47pF 25V. Is this ok?
    Those are filter bypass caps and will improve high frequency response. I recommend them since it's cheap and easy to do them. You don't need to get anything fancy, just use any quality poly cap that is rated for equal or greater voltage than the filter it goes across
    I used WIMA caps, I think those should be .47uF 50V. You can also use Panasonic ECQ which are much cheaper. Make sure you get the ones with the smallest lead spacing. Should be 5mm or 7.5mm
