My setup is becoming less and less HiFi as things develop..
Or at least, my HiFi record player/amp/speakers is situated elsewhere on the ground floor and I listen to this the most.
The goal is to banish the PA amp from the living room, but if it will remain to be the source of amplification I'm not sure yet! Keeping it, but not seeing it would mean drilling a hole in the wall and placing amplification in the space to the left. But I have no apetite for a project at the moment with a lot of activities at work + recent heat around here.
Anyway, what are we looking at:
On top of the right speaker, from top to bottom:
iPhone 12 Mini with downloaded music, playing in airplane mode. And playing though its standard dac, still need to get myself a proper external one.
Dateq SMA200 mixer/amplifier (amp turned off). Did a shootout between all my pre amps and mixers recently and this old beast sounds the best..
Master Audio TP1502 amplifier/processor. It's a 3 channel amp with a couple of simple settings to mix and match the stereo channels and third subwoofer channel. I'm very happy with this one, greatly simplifies my 'small party' setup.
Speakers: Peavey Project 5. I've come across wildly differing opinions on these. My take: I'm totally into Tannoy Dualconcentrics, and think that these deserve no less praise. Next to that, these perform quite brilliantly for the occasional party.
Subwoofers: 2 custom (pretty shallow for what they are) bass reflex boxes built around the Faital 18FH500 (one per box).
