My set up is always a work in progress:
  • McIntosh MA-352 integrated amp.
  • Technics SL1200 Mk2 Turntable with an AT 540ML stylus in a RigB aluminum body.
  • Atoll CD200 w/ integrated DAC board.
  • Cambridge Audio MXN10 streamer via coax into the Atoll.
  • Some Denon cassette deck I picked up along the way.
  • Sony 200-disc cd changer for those times that just want to load it up let it roll (via optical cable into the Atoll).
  • Magnepan 1.7i speakers.
  • Rel T5X sub to round out the bottom end.

My setup is becoming less and less HiFi as things develop..
Or at least, my HiFi record player/amp/speakers is situated elsewhere on the ground floor and I listen to this the most.

The goal is to banish the PA amp from the living room, but if it will remain to be the source of amplification I'm not sure yet! Keeping it, but not seeing it would mean drilling a hole in the wall and placing amplification in the space to the left. But I have no apetite for a project at the moment with a lot of activities at work + recent heat around here.

Anyway, what are we looking at:
On top of the right speaker, from top to bottom:
iPhone 12 Mini with downloaded music, playing in airplane mode. And playing though its standard dac, still need to get myself a proper external one.
Dateq SMA200 mixer/amplifier (amp turned off). Did a shootout between all my pre amps and mixers recently and this old beast sounds the best..
Master Audio TP1502 amplifier/processor. It's a 3 channel amp with a couple of simple settings to mix and match the stereo channels and third subwoofer channel. I'm very happy with this one, greatly simplifies my 'small party' setup.

Speakers: Peavey Project 5. I've come across wildly differing opinions on these. My take: I'm totally into Tannoy Dualconcentrics, and think that these deserve no less praise. Next to that, these perform quite brilliantly for the occasional party.
Subwoofers: 2 custom (pretty shallow for what they are) bass reflex boxes built around the Faital 18FH500 (one per box).

Two Rythmik 12" subs, one on each side of listening chair not shown. LIghts on purple due it was release day for Deep Purple's SPLAT!
Also not showing....most of the acoustic panels to include ones on the ceiling where the light/fan combo used to be.

Upgrades coming over next 2 months: Both racks of records consolidated with the other racks out in the loft (done), add a 2d turntable. a Technics SL1300G with Hana Umami Blue and other Skyfi enhamcements, and change the two tall solid steels to a Synergy Triple 40 unit, and on casters. And then add some 2 " sound panels along that right wall.

How do you like the Rythmik subs? Those are servo units, correct?
Way better than SVS. I have the sealed F12 SEs. Assembled near here but from foreign parts. They blend perfectly with just the right amount of authority in my small 11X12 foot room. Never thought once about REL or JL Audio.
