What was the the last audio-related item you purchased?

I'm not really a huge fan of U2 - their early stuff was pretty good, but I lost interest when they became a stadium-rock group- but I saw this stuff at a local thrift shop and the price was low enough that if I run into someone who likes U2 I can't give it to them.

And kudos to the person at the thrift store who put the price tags on masking tape instead of directly on the book covers!

Bought a Sony dvp S9000ES last week. Got it for a good price. Came with the original box, and remote. Great condition.
I've had one for a number of years that I bought from a buddy. I use that one as a transport. The one I just got will get used in the bedroom system without an external DAC for now.
 
Pair of 470 OPT transformers from a Dynaco ST70 for a build I am working on. Not sure I will end up using these as I have a pair of Tango's, and a pair of Luxman OPT's as well. Thinking of just doing this on a board and experiment at first and if I get lucky and it works or sounds good then I will arrange the final components in the Chassis I have.

A good friend purchased a mint Pioneer SX 980 receiver from the original owner a couple months ago. He then saw a Pioneer Spec system on FB for a give away price, and jumped on it. He then gave me a real nice deal on the 980. After cleaning the pots, it sounds as good as it looks. I also got this Technics amp from him at the same time.

Nice. I hadn't seen that little Technics integrated amp before. 20 to 30wpc range?

How does the Technics sound? I almost picked one up cheap recently, but I hesitated as usual and missed it.
 
Nearly fifty years ago, I bought Chris Rea's album, "What Ever Happened to Benny Santini?" when it was released. It has the long version of "Fool if You Think it's Over," on it.
I Iiked the song, so about fifteen years ago I bought the 45rpm record which has a shorter version on it, for one of my vinyl jukeboxes. I've had them for nearly 20 years in the summerhouse I built in 1987 at the bottom of my garden .

Trawling through eBay I saw a copy of Elkie Brooks cover available for five quid including postage. I've always liked that too. The record sleeve looked immaculate, so I bought it, the record was near mint. It arrived on Friday, so I swopped them over.

Neighbour's got one as well, and thinks along this way.

Seems like he and his wife were engaged in some talk a short time ago, and that electronic "gal" butt in on their conversation, ending up with her...apologizing for cutting into their talk. So, there just may be some validity to your "take"! I know it was an option on some of the Galaxy TV's that had to be cancelled out. Kinda like the ole "Party Line" on the phone, way back when, eh?
