If the current owner of the "Ed Saunders" stylus-cartridge business continues with the same attention to
quality and detail as Ed observed, there won't be any problem. What will make that difficult, however,
is the loss of Ed's experience in the field. Along with that experience came a very good
bulls*** filter. With the aftermarket stylus business so full of fakes and charlatans, that would be an
important tool for someone wanting to sell a quality product. I've always been impressed with how Ed
was specific about stylus tip sizes and shapes, and the way he documented how a customer's verified
the performance of the Ed Saunders replacement stylus for the Shure V15 Type III, how
it sounded the same and measured virtually the same, probably within Shure's own tolerances. That's
what a replacement stylus should be, not something that sounds different, though that might
appeal to some who will immediately proclaim it to be "better" without knowing the reasons for the discrepancy.
