Saw then 2 years ago in August here in Atlanta. 90 deg. and not a breathe of air. The "Sweat Fest" my wife called it. They were great and the amphitheater they play in allows coolers, wines, and beer, plus food was OK to bring also. Great concert!
This year's is in September so it should be a little cooler. Hope to attend!
ALL HAIL SUMMER IN CHICAGO! I've got Charles Bradley, Lee Fields (fo' free), Japandroids, Mikal Cronin, coming up this summer and (Holy bleeding shitballs, these guys never did a full tour) Deseparacidos coming up in October. And that's just the ones I'm excited about. Riotfest is literally playing across the street from me this summer. Not to mention Chicago's numerous street fests.
Yes, I'm delving into audiophile ish here, but nothing replaces live music.
For the record, those are all at small venues. I've got Wilco (who just play the world's sexiest gear) playing with My Morning Jacket and Bob Dylan at a big ass stadium.
Tho we saw the Donald Fagen summer party last year (Dukes of September) with Boz & Michael, this will be our first Dan concert!
Its a mega outdoor venue, but its later in September, so hopefully not too swealtery ...
This one is at my favorite venue - smaller to medium size with absolutely the best acoustics I've heard for concerts. Indoors of course --- outdoor concerts in Texas in August are just torture.
Got mine too - Aug 30 - in the middle of the Texas summer. I have seen them 5 times and each time I come away more amazed than previously. The band is 5 star.

I lived in Texas in the late 90's. Outdoor shows were brutal in the summer. But the worst was when I caught Iron Maiden at the Bronco Bowl (RIP) in 1999. Indoor concert in the middle of the summer with little to no air conditioning. It was a great relief when the concert was over and I finally made it outside.
Any major dude will tell you this about Steely Dan concerts: As long as it isn't on black Friday, when everyone has gone to the movies with their cousin Dupree, these show biz kids put on the royal scam. They bring on guest artists like Dr. Wu, Kid Charlemagne, and that sign-in stranger who wears green earrings. They play driving rock and deacon blues with back-ups by the babylon sisters, and when they're done, they do it again. I tell my wife Peg: "Don't take me alive to one of those concerts, because they remind me of everything you did with Josie back at my old school in Barrytown, when we were, hey, nineteen!" Really, reminds me too much of how I've been reelin' in the years since then, and since I moved to Aja in search of the Bodhisattva.
