Anyone ever bypass the Scott PEC filter 299 ?
Not even sure what it does , is it part of the Scott Dynaural filter ? Does the Scott 233/299 series have a subsonic filter ? As in a fixed filter. The reason I ask is, I am rebuilding a Scott 233 and the line stage is very dynamic and full sounding, but the phono stage is lackluster and the...- billyz

I just took possession of a very nice Scott 233, completely original as far as I could tell. I ran it up on a variac to 117vac , did a few voltage checks and set the bias and balance. Sounded pretty good a bit muddy and blurry and hum. I played it awhile anyway to get a good feel for it. Next I...- billyz
