Hello all! I’m looking for a copy of the schematic for a small SET tube amp, model K2003, made by Antique Sound USA. These were built circa 2001 Thanks!

    "Andrea" EL84 Stereo Console Restoration

A little while back I posted about a pretty rare EL84-powered stereo console I had found, made by the Andrea Radio Company of New York (a successor company to FADA, a radio manufacturer from the 1920's and '30s). The electronics inside looked great, but the cabinet desperately needed...

Magnavox 8601 back on bench questions

Hey guys, so the Maggie 8601 was the first tube amp I ever rebuilt with only the original iron and all new parts. This was about 3 or 4 years ago now and I quickly moved to building other audio gear but I always felt that the Magnavox should have sounded a little bit better, I did modify the...

Pilot 602 power amp scratch build

I recently acquired a Pilot 602 that is a bit beyond refurbishing. I love the sound of my 402 & I wondered what it would sound like with fresh everything, minimal components and NO tone controls. Since they are similar amps, I'm considering doing a scratch build as a power amp using these...

    Pilot 245A faceplate - before

Faceplate from my Pilot 245-A integrated amplifier as it was found in a console. Look for the "after" picture to see it resurrected.
  7. Pilot 245A integrated amp - before

Pilot 245A integrated amp - before

This is my Pilot 245-A integrated amp just after I pulled it from it's console. Push-pull amplifier with 6BQ5/EL84 output tubes, about 20 watts per channel. This amp has the same output transformers as the venerable Pilot 232 amp. Note the faceplate in the background, and see the...

    Pilot 245A faceplate - after

This is my Pilot 245A integrated tube amp - all cleaned up. Lots of elbow grease, Brasso, Nevr-Dull (magic stuff!). The amp was recapped with Orange Drops and Sprague Atoms throughout. It's a push-pull 6BQ5 with about 20watts output per channel.
  9. SE 6BQ5 Olson console amp

    SE 6BQ5 Olson console amp

I pulled this out of an Olson console. Added a power switch, fuse assembly, volume pot, jewel light, and new power cord. EZ81 rectifier, 12AX7 driver, and EL84/6BQ5 power tubes. Pretty amazing sound from an amp smaller than a shoebox!
