I have restored and recapped a Sansui AU-7900 which I bought with a problem. After a few minutes the amp clicks and sound is shut off. the power indicator stays on. Turning it off, wait a few seconds, and turning it on again helps, and it stays on. The old C701 (15000uF 63V) measured 0.2uF so...

    Sansui AU-5900 hissing (background noise)

Hi everyone, I found a Sansui AU-5900 in an estate sale for 75$ CAN. The receiver wasn't plugged for the last 4 or 5 years and was really dirty (smoker house). Now this isn't their utter plastic 90s garbage, but I tend to find amps and receivers from the late 60s...

Concept 11.0 Receiver vs. Sansui AU-919 Integrated

I have a mint Concept 11.0 in my closet that could use refurbishing internally. I have always lusted for an AU-919 and am at a crossroads. My options seem to be a) pay a good chunk of change to get the 11.0 up to sonic snuff or b) sell the 11.0 for good money and find an AU-919 or AU-717. Does...

    AU-517/717 Selector coupling

I have an AU-517 where the selector switch internal coupling is missing causing the selector to be useless. The original part was made of plastic and had a spline internal design to adhere to the selector shaft. Can anyone tell me an alternative coupling I can use to remedy this issue. Thank you

Sansui AU 9500 Takes A Long Time to Turn On

Hi, I recently purchased a Sansui AU 9500 that had undergone a full service and partial recap. Upon receiving it, it took a longer than normal time for the speaker relay to switch on. Once the amp was warm and the relay had switched once, it worked perfectly and would switch at a normal time...
