10,000 posts...

No matter how long you posts may be, they satisfy the mini-skirt rule - long enough to cover the subject but short enough to be interesting. :thmbsp:

Your 10K post speaks for many of us in expressing gratitude for this site.

Regards,

D-Ray

Let's see now, 10,002 posts divided by 47 months equals just over 212 per month, divided by 30.4 (avg days per mo) equals just over 7 per day. WOW! You've been a busy guy. Thanks for all the information and opinions you've shared.

Congrats Arkay, tis a pleasure to read your posts. May I not pass away in the middle of reading one, would be such a tragedy. :smoke:

Congratulations Arkay :thmbsp:

Never mind that it's only a measly 10,000 !

Look at the way you got there ! - your posts are thoroughly entertaining, superbly thought out, and I really enjoy reading them.

I think you should do an average word count per post, you'd be right up at the top of the list

Congrats on the milestone. Keep them coming and we'll keep reading. Thanks for all your insight and wishes for many more.

Congrats Arkay. I enjoy your posts when I actually have time to sit and read them.

To descend from the Grateful Dead to Bugs Bunny in one short (or not-so-short :D) post, I guess th-th-that's all, folks!

But that is porky pig who says that.

Thank you, all, for the kind words.

ZebraBlvd, if you passed away while doing anything, it would be a tragedy!

Holst, I've actually thought that if I had spent the same time writing a book as I have writing posts, I'd have finished a decently long novel by now. It does make me think about writing something for publication, because I realize it is "do-able". My problem is WHAT to write! If I came up with an idea as commercially viable as Harry Potter or one of Dan Brown's books, the revenues would certainly pay for some pretty fancy audio gear! It's not the finger movements that are hard... it's settling on content that is worth the time!

Bhundu, you can get your own GT over the internet, from HiFiDo in Japan. Ask Theophile for specifics; that's how he got his. Their prices are reasonable (for what you get), and from all accounts, their customer service is good, and their packing is superb. Just decide to get one, and if necessary, start saving those pennies!

Clydeselsor, I've had my share of one-liner posts. People just don't remember those, as the long ones are more noticeable, and thus more memorable.

Ausjoe, I'd count all the words, but I don't have enough fingers and toes for that. :D

Tensleep, if I really opened up my mind on a page, I suspect you'd hear AKers around the world running, screaming in horror, from their computers... or something like that! :D Well, maybe not that bad, but I suspect we all think a lot more things than we actually say (or write), don't we?

Congrats Arkay. I enjoy your posts when I actually have time to sit and read them.

But that is porky pig who says that.

OOPS! Of course you're right. Major boo-boo, esp. since I have the entire Looney Tunes catalog on LaserDisc, and should know better. What a way to close out my 10,000th post... with a "brain fart" mistake I would never have made as a five-year-old! :sigh: {I'll add a correction to the original post.} One day I'll start making more posts in the daytime, when I'm at least half awake! :D

To everyone else who commented, thanks again!

Love your post, no matter how long. You could have written a novel. I feel like I read one. Keep up the good work.

10,000 posts, and not a duff one in the lot! You're an icon. :D

Not a duff one? Would that that were true! But thank you for the humbling praise, anyway! :D

Congrats,

....and get a digital camera, your posts need more pictures.

:)

Be careful what you wish for. The last years that I was taking pictures, I took several thousand per year. If I started getting into posting pics here and posted as many pics as I have been posting words, I'd probably crash the AK server, and then where would we be? :D

Seriously, though, I do know that I SHOULD post more pictures... well, at least SOME pictures! :D One day, perhaps...

Again, to the others who added kind words to this thread, THANK YOU! :thmbsp:

Congrats, Ark!
Others have already stated my thoughts.
Your posts are informative.
The one from the celiac disease thread was copied/pasted and saved for my GF, since she is also gluten intolerant.
We need to get you a camera so we can SEE all the cool stuff you find over there!
Take care.
