$10 or less, best scores only.

Nope. Missed getting the HPM-1100's (or 150/1500's...she couldn't remember) along with it by about 15 minutes. Goodwill picked them up but didn't want to take that big ol' heavy receiver. :D

That is like a score of a lifetime.Damn!!.I have gotten some very good stuff for free but if i have to list for $10 or under it would be a set of jbl l20t's bookshelf speakers that sound great and a pioneer tx 7100 that was almost mint

Eico HF-12 - $10 at a flea market.

This amp took me from tube radios to hi-fi tube amps and really got me sticking my fingers in high voltage on a regular basis.

Edit: I don't know WHY this posted twice.

Audio Research SP-3A $0.00
Luxman MS-10 $0.00
Bose 901 Series IV with stands, all new in the box, way overpaid, $0.00, and long since gone.

And two others, an Audio Research SP-9II and McCormack DNA-1 combo that I have used in the main system for over 10 years, $0.00, but I think I have to give them back. They are my brothers units on long-term loan for a pair of KEF Q10s, $0.00, that he uses to hold up a printer. That is a trade I will make all day long.

After looking at all the other scores, I thought I was not getting anything. But then I did this quick short version and see that I'm about the same as the rest.

Garage sale earlier this year, $10 for a mint Akai GX-286DB in original box and a factory dust cover in the original box and about 20 tapes of recorded music from the 70's. Sorry no picture of it yet.

$10.00 items...

Pioneer SX-1010 (still using it)
EPI T/E 100 mint pair

$7.00 Pioneer 7-band EQ mint

$5.00 Pioneer CT-F6262 cassette deck mint w/ no issues

How about FREE?
4 (yes, FOUR) beautiful original walnut Large Advents (beveled moldings) with mint cabs at curbside. Just needed re-foaming. I currently have them stacked.
A JVC A-X900 100+ watt integrated amp (circa 1985) and a Pioneer PL-X300 tray loading TT with MC cartridge......both in excellent physical and operating condition.
And finally, a pair of 1965 JBL Apollo S51 speakers (circa 1965) w/15" woofers and horn mid/tweeter..............for helping to clean out a house. I'm using those as the fronts in HT set-up.
I thought I did pretty well. :D

Edit: Almost forgot to mention the Pioneer SX-424 that my neighbor gave me just the other day. I hooked it up to a pair of Klipsch Forte IIs and am very pleased with the sound.............almost tube-like in its presentation. Must be the fact that it's capacitor coupled, or so I've read.

Don't get much for 10 bucks most times. Let's see...pair of Sound Dynamics 6S speakers (needed refoam) for $5. Got a Marantz separates system for $35 once -- splitting them up, the price for the 250M and 3500 would have been less than $10 each. :D

EPI 201s curbside, just needed a new woofer (thanks, MHardy!)

AR-2AX free off Craigslist, needed new foam and capacitors, running beautifully as I write

KLH 6s, free, but I had to strip several layers of white oil-based enamel paint off 'em before I could bring them in the house

Pioneer PL-115D free, just needed a new belt.

There's more, but these have been the scores that gave me the greatest return in listening pleasure.

Just lately, a Philips DVD 962SA (MSRP $599) for $2.99 at GW. Sold "as is" because they apparently didn't have a power cord to test it with. One nearly invisible surface blemish, works fine. :D

I've gotten numerous receivers at the customary price of $8.98, stuff that comes immediately to mind...
Point 3 Systems Point 3s $8 (these are really weird $795 speakers from 1977)
Marantz Model 30 $6.98
Marantz 5030 $6.98
Utah WD-90 two pairs, one $7 one $9.98
At least a dozen different good vintage CD players (including many Belgium made Magnavox units)
Garrard Zero 100C $4.98
Martin Spectrum Slope speakers (I've never located one bit of info about these) $9

Beyond that I've gotten at least 50 or more receivers and countless other pieces of gear for less than $10 from all makes and models. My truly best scores fall outside of this price range such as the Esotec SM-7 at $19.96 or the Sansui 990DB for $25.

i dont want to hyjack this thread but this is my story.my $1.00 pioneer sx1250 was bought at a estate sale. the house was being demolished along with 3 others to make way for newer unaffordable homes.it was in the basement with a pile of cloths on top of it. i only caught a small corner of it that was not covered.i asked the lady how much it was,she said $1.00 i think everything was $1.00 she did'nt even look at it.i handed her my dollar, and RAN out to the car with it.i also picked up a old pair of jvc speakers with the twelve inch rca egg shell woofers. you guessed it $1.00.she also had nova speakers, but my escort was full. a true dumb luck story.

You were in the right place at the right time.I just squirm thinking it would have been plowed under.A working 1250!!! and for a buck!!! Good for you.

My current DVD player is a Pioneer I purchased off ebay for $5 including the remote control. Forget the actual model number but it is a middle of the road. Definitely not a cheapie. I've even had it for a couple of years now and it works great.

I think whoever got the Mc tube system on the minneapolis CL for free got the best deal. 2 amps, a preamp, tuner, and more...for free...

Mint Sansui 9090db at local garage sale for $10 is my favorite and now main system receiver. I broke the AM antenna mount before learning how puny they are!
