1060 Output coupling caps

In the attached picture marked with red there what seem to be heat sinks for these transistors. Is there thermal grease on these and Since I cleaned the board and used 99% isopropyl alcohol to help dry I would like to apply fresh grease. How do I remove them?

There may or may not be thermal compound on them from the factory.
You can insert a small screwdriver into the slot in those heat sinks and open them up so that they can be removed from the transistors.
I then apply a thin layer of thermal component to the mating surface, crimp the heat sink slightly and press it back on.
Necessary? Probably not, but I usually do it anyway.

I have a hard time believing that the FAA would allow crimp connectors to be used in critical systems on aircraft. And FWIW, I don't fly commercial.
gslikker is right.. Lots of special crimping tools required. Wire wrap and crimped connections.
 
Does anyone see a reason I shouldn't replace this grounding bar off the filter cap with a 12 ga wire? It's such a pain soldering a bar of metal to a cap? grounding bar 1060 filter cap.jpg
