12 outdated technologies that refuse to die - discuss and how many do you use?

I have four SANSA Clip players, all beefed up w/ additional SIM cards, all working perfectly --- including one acquired in/around 2012. I just load 'em up w/ "Redbook" lossless (FLAC encoded), since I have expanded space and four players, easy to tote on trips, etc. One of them is specially set up for Gym use (weightlifting), so it's filled w/ Heacy Music for heavy lifting and Heavy Sled pushing.

I just run MP3's without sim cards. I'm only doing podcasts and audiobooks. I have 4 of them around here. They're super reliable and lightweight. The batteries hold a charge forever....much better than my phone.

As an Architectural and Engineering manager I loved AutoCAD, but as a designer I never took to it.

I hated it at first. But after 8 hours a day for years it all became second nature. The best feature is being able to draw everything full scale....if it's 10 miles long or 8 decimal places deep, the software doesn't care.

It's a Gilbert, it still keeps time and the chimes still work. Just a nuisance to keep winding every few days. That's why I gave it to him.

My niece has the family heirloom Grandfather Clock by Herschede. A piece my great uncle bought in the mid' 40's. It's required a bit of work from professionals to keep it running. Stunning piece, beautiful sounding chimes. I had if for a few years, glad it went to a better home. Too much trouble for me, just to tell time.

Most of my vintage mechanical clocks have died, replaced the chimer with a Seiko Westminster carriage style battery clock. Only maintainance is DST reset and battery replacement.

re: long battery life .... yep, I failed to mention that SANSA players, mine anyway, hold charges for days and days even w/ extensive use.
