12b4, 6ca4 build questions....

I grabbed that resistor that was smoking after i flipped the cap, and tried to see if it was getting hot today. wow i was in for a shock, wow it grabbed me good!

Yikes! I bet that stung.

Also forgot to say, that i swapped the one led thats not working, and now it works! ( the new one)

Swapped as in put a new one in or flipped its direction? Are the plate voltages still too high?

More pics!

well heres a rundown!

my ccs dont work, i replaced the ccs with a 10k 3w resistor, courtesy of the brickman. and shes alive. post pics later! got get that wiring under control, looks like a hairbrush!

Its done i hope!

Any faults in this? I think it looks good! the ccs was a big chore, but brick sent some resistors to use in its place fr now till he makes a board! But heres some glam shots of the under belly, If i get the all clear, im gonna load the tubes, and power it up!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Looks good to me! I'd say fire it up.

If your power amp or CD player has an earth grounded plug too, you may have potential for a ground loop there since your circuit is earth grounded. We'll cross that bridge if/when we get to it.

if it hums, it is either the above, the fact you may need dc heaters, or power supply ripple. I think you should have about 1-2 mV of fuzz on the output, you may or may not hear it with your setup (need efficient speakers and/or high gain amplifier) just ask Jay about his recent humming problem;)

you guys are great! alright ill fire her up, snap some photos of the "top-pics" bolly, wish i could set it down, but i have to seit up like a kick stand for me to do anything! last time i put some noise thru it, it was really low, and i had my amp cranked to the max, and it wasnt loud, but we'll see!

Salt,

In your second pic, take a look at the wire in the bottom right hand corner. It's gotta bare spot.

Wrap it up.

itll be wrapped, thanks for noticing! red and yellow is the ground by the way... I must say this does have alot of gain, and it is touchy, very warm sounding to! i got to figure out whats wrong w/ this volume pot though.... i cant see any splatter anywhere shorting something. cables i used are good. im gonna put a ground bar connecting the two bars. see what happens!

Top pics!

Have to excuse the shiny and dingy part, just pulled the plastic off of it! it'll buff out! :thmbsp:

when she really gets going, ill upload some of it in the dark!
