Can anybody indentify these worth the risk.http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/ele/1615144961.html
I'm certainly not an Altec expert, but they look like Santanas to me. IIRC, the first version of Santanas had a 15" 420 bi-flex woofer and, unlike the Santiago, no horn.

hmm, you dont think they look like these? I think they are too big to be santanas. I'M bettin they are santiagos. I can see part of the sculpted grill, in the upper left hand pic.
Mine were $200. I would say for 200 they are a very good acquisition.
Am I looking at a different photo than you are in the CL ad? The Altec (?) I thought I saw is attached below.
$200 for Santana's or Santiago's? The Santiagos are just a 411 woofer away from a Valencia.
Does this hurt the value that much? I have seen them advertised for a lot more.

The Santiagos, and valencias are very different, that 411 is only used in a sealed enclosure, and uses the 30904 attenuator/eq. to bring forth the highs from the 806 driver, and compensate for the 411s slight inefficiency. the 411 is a very nice driver that's tuned lowwww like 19 hz. in that cabinet. The valencias used a 416 ported cabinet and an 806 h.f. driver and don't go near as low as the 411.
That's a negative, Houston.
What is the price range for the Santiagos? :scratch2:
