Trying to understand the value of these. The cabs are in near mint condition, as are the speakers. I already posted another thread about these and folks feel the enclosures were sold separately and they were designed to carry whatever speakers you wanted. You can see there's a black plywood panel above the E-Vs that likely is designed to accept another smaller speaker. I A-B'ed these against some 70's Pioneer speakers (that sound pretty darn good for an audio nube), and feel they could definitely benefit from some crossovers and set of tweeters.

You can't know that until you put new capacitors in the crossover. If the caps are bad, they won't pass good (or any) signal to the tweeter.

Coaxial speakers have a tweeter mounted on the front of them, in this case the EV would have a center mounted horn similar to a T-35. The whizzer cone is a piece of cone material mounted around the dust cap at a 45 degree angle that was supposed to project higher frequencies. You see them a lot on lower end car speaker systems.
I found a pair of EV speakers with a bass reflex enclosure that I got for $8.
Came with 12 inch multicone drivers.
Work from around 30hz-11khz
Very warm midrange forward sounding speakers. Really great for adding some warmth and intimacy to a speaker system.
Not sure if this is similar to what you are looking at.
But might help a bit anyways.
