1963 Telefunken Opus 2430

Just purchased a 1963 Telefunken Opus 2430 console with two satellite speakers. Plugged it in and as it warmed up it started making a loud hum sound
Not sure if from speakers or power supply. Anyone familiar with these?

Not specifically familiar with this model, but most old tube gear that has forgotten the words (hums) need new filter capacitors in the power supply. Probably the large round can-shaped thing(s) on the chassis. It likely needs some other work as well but the big caps are probably the source of noises.

There are about 10 capacitors that need replacing, if not done,plugging it in further may damage the unit,

Volume potentiometer totally rusted and stuck. Going to try to find new one also treble and bass potentiometer. Anyone know of sources or part numbers?

thats often pretty difficult. Many things used somewhat custom parts and finding them in the right physical config now can be almost impossible. usually it ends up with a sub that isn't quite exactly right, and you have to make shaft extensions and stuff like that.

I'd try some lube oil and heat to see if it will break free first. A soldering iron applied to the bushing where the shaft goes through often will make it let go. Worth a shot at any rate.

The potentiometer was cracked. Stem came out. I think it's a dual gang. Also filter cap needs replacement. Can't find any values on can. I have original schematic,just not not sure if I am looking at the right area.Here are a few pictures, any help is very much appreciated.

Looks like the schematic calls for three 100uf sections. Can't read the numbers quite clear enough to say for sure.

Hayseed Hamfest can custom make cans. I believe JJ makes a two section 100uf can if you can fit the third cap underneath. Or if there is enough room, a terminal strip and three caps underneath will also do it.
