i exchanged emails with the seller, and the "bidding" has apparently gotten out of control.

it has a 400cx2 preamp, a 100 multiplex unit, [edit: a 202-r tuner], and [edit: should] have the sa-300 amp that came with it (but it's on carpet, and too heavy to move to check).

if i'd've seen it the night before, i would have driven to get it RIGHT THEN. hopefully someone on ak is picking it up.

Looks like a 202R tuner. I don't think the 800C would be necessary with the 400 preamp and SA300 amp. :D All TOTL, and all highly desirable. I hope the buyer doesn't gut that beautiful console.
 
The 1964 President didn't have a separate MPX-100. It's a '62. I almost hate to see these come up for sale since the combined value of the individual components almost guarentees the destruction of yet another beautiful Fisher console. I hope somebody proves me wrong.
 
Someone should let the seller know that they are very interested in the cabinet if it should be gutted by the buyer. That way the cabinet can be salvaged, and it wouldn't be that hard to piece together a suitable set of replacement parts. It might not be perfect, but it would still be a very nice piece More importantly, the most fragile piece (the cabinet) would be saved.

Any idea what the top bid is? I sent her an email but all she could tell me is that it may be sold and she'll let me know Thursday. I have a feeling it will be on ebay or back on CL with a 3000$ asking price.

i do, but am not willing to be party to a bidding war by disclosing it before friday. let's just say she wishes she'd done more research, and seems to be an honorable person. my guess is somone offered her an amount to hold it until thursday, and she's sticking by the agreement. good for her karma, not as good for her wallet.

but what do i know. i thought the 202r was an 800 (didn't know a tuner could have so many knobs)! :D

I've seen a lot of consoles, but never have I seen a console chock full of TOTL gear.

lol, you're probably right. but i could have been in position for an 8 am pickup!

this is kind of the holy grail of fisher consoles...even though it's in provincial, not modern, clothing.

what a joy to have been able even to see an ad about it selling nearby.

Yep I thought for sure she was going to say over 1500$. I would have done 700$..damn I offered 600$ and figure she would counter with a higher offer. She said she should have done more research and a lot of people were curious as to the selling price. Most people when they get flooded with emails, will with hold from selling till the actually worth is found out. I wonder where it went? Its all good though, I have more consoles then wall space.
