The first deck is a Pioneer CT-F8282. I bought this deck from Offer up a couple of years ago and it was not running at all. I cleaned it up and got it to play and it sounds really good. Some issues....it will not FF or REW. Occasionally when playing a tape it just stops.....the take-up part stops turning and so it automatically stops playing.
Today for the first time I tried to record with this deck and one channel has some static and sound comes and goes. Sometimes it's just low other times it is fine and I hear static. Would Deoxit take care of that if I spray the input knob?
The other deck is a Pioneer CT-301. I tried to record with this deck for the first time today and when I push the record button, it plays and does not record. When I opened it up I could see that when I pushed record, the REC action plate or lever is not moving to engage the recording mechanism. When I manually make the connection the REC light comes on.
I really like the CT-F8282 and think it is worth keeping and fixing if possible.
Any thoughts? Thanks
