Rotary switches have disc's stacked on the shaft. On the disc (Watch carefully when turning knob) you'll see a "pointer" sliding on copper disc that is separated at points in step with different functions . Say Function has 4 disc's and are listed on the schematic as S1(Function Switch) 1F, 1R, 2F, 2R,3F, 3R, 4F, 4R. Front to Back disc's 1-2-3-4. F = Front side of Disc R = Rear side of disc. Pins are numbered 1 thru 12(max) from top, clockwise as you face front of unit (usually).

Anyway, spray both sides of the disc (all of them), wait 30 minutes for DeOxit to Soften the contaminents, then give it a short spritz to rewet it. Work knob back and forth lock to lock about 50 times. after, you'll see a thin bright line in the middle of the crud. This is what DeOxit and friction does. You don't need much and this works well. Back it up with some Shield, Faderlube or CRC 2-26 Lube. DO NOT EVER EVER use WD-40!

Closed push button switches. Look at the front corners and near the shaft hole. There may be a vent you can drizzle some in. You have to remove the front panel for this.
 
The rotary switch for the imput selector Phono 1 , 2 am/fm , AUX has a shaft that goes underneath bent sheet metal that I can't see under. I am new to this you probably figured. Should I just point the straw up that shaft? The rest of it I can see pretty well.

Larry , I took the sheet metal off covering up what you were describing. I am going to try spraying from the back side first before trying to take the front panel off. Right now it is working great but I know I will lose a channel again.
 
Post a picture sheet metal off before you go spraying. I'll edit it and show you where to spray and not spray.

Arrowed locations and additionals not in shot all get DeOxit. One tip (and the pun is intended!) is to put a piece of wire in the straw free tip end about 2" long. Then heat up the straw end and about 3/4" up from end bend it about 90*. Once the straw cools remove the wire. The wire keeps the lumen in the straw open between heating and bending. This will allow you to aim the DeOxit in toward the spots that need it and not on areas that don't.

Super cool editing Larry. Be specific where I blast the stuff . Just don't hose it down. Very nice Larry! I really don't want to remove the front panel.
 
Great advice Larry, I will try that trick to bend the straw. Also letting it soak and re-wetting are things I’ve not done.
One other piece of advice, be careful when using DeOxit on volume pots or other pots, there is often a grease in there that adds a ‘feel’ or resistance to turning. That can get washed away and change the feel of the rotation.
One can get depressed when ever they turn the pot thereafter.

Hi Larry, I managed to somehow make it worse. Now the left channel has this sort of popping static on all inputs. Maybe somebody on here can steer me to a AK guy that will help me out near Spokane. I already used a local tech but as you can see I am still having trouble. I know a few tube guys but I don't know if they do SS. I probably put the de oxit some where it didn't belong. Good thing I have other amps. LOL !

It was a jumper wire in the back and this somehow started right after I DeOxed it and fader lubed it. A mystery ?
 
Larry ,it seems to be pushing my big tekton speakers just fine. I try to keep it below 11:00 on the volume. THANKS !!
 
Jumpers will do that. I pull mine out and in a couple times every year or so during maintenance cleaning.

For the input selector switches I use the liquid Deoxit with the needle tip. Apply to the contacts and wiper, then rotate many times. I only use the spray for control pots with an opening. And then I usually use faderlube, but Deoxit works too. I also use the liquid with needle tip for the rca jacks and speaker terminals.
