Rotary switches have disc's stacked on the shaft. On the disc (Watch carefully when turning knob) you'll see a "pointer" sliding on copper disc that is separated at points in step with different functions . Say Function has 4 disc's and are listed on the schematic as S1(Function Switch) 1F, 1R, 2F, 2R,3F, 3R, 4F, 4R. Front to Back disc's 1-2-3-4. F = Front side of Disc R = Rear side of disc. Pins are numbered 1 thru 12(max) from top, clockwise as you face front of unit (usually).
Anyway, spray both sides of the disc (all of them), wait 30 minutes for DeOxit to Soften the contaminents, then give it a short spritz to rewet it. Work knob back and forth lock to lock about 50 times. after, you'll see a thin bright line in the middle of the crud. This is what DeOxit and friction does. You don't need much and this works well. Back it up with some Shield, Faderlube or CRC 2-26 Lube. DO NOT EVER EVER use WD-40!
Closed push button switches. Look at the front corners and near the shaft hole. There may be a vent you can drizzle some in. You have to remove the front panel for this.
