2019 AXPONA and RMAF

Going to try and get RMAF scheduled in for this year. Will be driving out from KC so if anyone wants to tag along they are more than welcome. If no one else goes then it's a nice long bike ride!
 
I plan on being at Axpona with some friends. It'll be nice to get back out there, I was last there in 2016 and loved it.
 
Anybody else flying in to O'Hare on Friday morning want to share a cab to the hotel? I'm landing about 9am. I remember it being about $60 ("flat fee") out to Schaumburg last year.

Yes, I'm asking a month early. :D
 
This will be my first year attending, am I correct in assuming that there will be plenty of tickets at the door?
 
Wife and I will be going. At 56 yrs old is my 1st hi fi show. Got the gold tickets because why not. Flying in Thurs AM and getting a rental.
Hitting the Cubs ball game Thurs eve (better bring heavy jacket..lol). Flying back to Austin Sunday morning.

First time for me. I will be there Saturday. Bringing with me a pair of speakers and doing a parking lot gear swap with another gentleman traveling an equal and opposite direction. Have not yet found a travel companion.

By the way, what’s the consensus there in the lab for the best/recommended Vermouth for a TR Manhattan? Preferred bitters? Asking for a friend...
 
I will be working with exhibitors at AXPONA again this year. We are bringing a 26 foot truck from Atlanta, with gear for the two VAC/Von Schweikert room (yes, I said TWO rooms- Euphoria and Nirvana A!).

This is an almost overwhelming amount of things to coordinate, pack, and load, and will be a very busy setup for us. One room (Euphoria) will be the same as last year, pretty much, with a few upgrades (the VSA Ultra 11s with the VAC Statement amps and preamps., Esoteric Grandioso digital gear and TechDAS Air Force One turntable).

The other room (Nirvana A) will basically be the setup we used at RMAF 2018 with upgrades (the VAC Statement Integrated with the VSA Ultra 9s, Esoteric digital gear and TechDAS turntable) in one end of the room, and an additional system using VAC Master, Signature and Renaissance gear with the VSA Endeavor E5 and E3 speakers, with Esoteric and TEAC digital gear and TechDAS turntable, on the other end of the room.

We have to set all this up in just over one day! :yikes:

I've always admired VAC and Von Schweikert, but never spent much time in their rooms (for who-knows-what reason). I'll be sure to cozy in for a bit this year.
