Ohighway

Wannabe Minimalist
Sorry to say I'm stuck in Ohio cleaning out my parents house, then off to Indiana to visit a very elderly aunt, and have Sunday commitments when I get back home mid October thru the end of October.

So....I'm setting the event for Sunday Nov. 6th from noon till 6pm.

Hope to see you there. Please pass the word around......

After postponing the Highland Games & Celtic festival event for 2 years due to COVID,
for 2022, the owners of Richmond International Raceway changed the rules for all events hosted there to "No Outside Food"!!!
So the Festival folks decided without traditional foods, they wouldn't rent facilities there -
so no Celtic games and festival for us this fall! (usually the end of October anyway).
How can you have a traditional Celtic fest without Scotch Eggs, Fish'n'chips, shortbread, Haggis, Irish coffee?
So the MidAtlantic bash in early November might be nice!

No Guinness? Horrors!

I should be able to make any of those Sundays, looking forward to it! I will bring my wife’s mac and cheese, and some beer and water.

I've been enjoying Skyline chili while here on Ohio.
When we were going to the USGP in Indy we stopped for Skyline. With the time we spent in Cincy, before college for me and before and after for my brother they always get some when in the area.

Any of the three Sundays before Thanksgiving should be fine for me.

I remember Skyline Chili from the early '60s. There was a small food stand built into the outside wall in the old Crosley Field, where I used to go to see the Reds. The stand's specialty was foot long chili dogs, using Skyline Chili!.

is that the thing served over pasta ? When I was in Columbus in February they mentioned it and the concept was just too bizzare for me to get my head around.
You missed the important part, the spices include cinnamon.

Come on over I have a can of it in the cupboard. Making it according to America's Test Kitchen is good but it ain't the real thing.

Hi Rick-I look forward to the gathering-thanks again for hosting!

I will bring some fried chicken, and perhaps some gear to sell-if interest is expressed.
