That is it. A church potluck in the kitchen area and a gear swap meet on the front porch or set up tables in the drive if the weather is nice. Then you got folks from ak looking at Rick's gear in different rooms, listening to gear in some rooms or watching the game in one room if there is an interest by enough of the attendees or the hosts. Folks talking audio has even been heard at these events.

PM is private message, click on the avatar for Ghazzer up in post #22 and then click Start a Conversation and tell him you would like the address and while reading that post see if there is something you can drag to the event to provide. Many of those suggestions were at previous events and the list was made. Heck you can drop in with a bag of chips and hope for the best. Just show up and put it in the kitchen area with the other bags of chips (something easy you can pick up on the way) if you don't have a specialty you want folks to try, like ehoove's crab dip or the bbq, homemade beer or whatever else is on the list. And load a plate while in the area and grab a drink or get the lay of the land and return for the noshing later.

Put your gear for sale in the proper locations you will easily see upon arrival with your name and maybe a price and look over what folks have to offer. Maybe have a name tag so folks know you or can find you if they are interested in your machine on the for sale benches.

Ghazzer is the secretary for the event keeping track of the lists and sending out the information about the location, by pm so it is not out there on the interweb for the bots to get it. We don't want bots at these events. He takes care of the details as Rick is busy getting his home ready.

I'm planning on coming, I'll do the usual, soda. Nobody wants to taste my cooking, including me.
Not a member of barter town anymore, I might be interested in a tonearm, for some reason I'm attracted to them. Mostly for carts like the Denon DL-103. An SPU cart might tickle my fancy as well.

Reason for not being in Barter Town? Because of the stupid rules. Because the adds get auto deleted after a week. I've lost valuable (to me) information when all the old adds were deleted. I tried to work with it but got frustrated. Seems like most folks did as well, I understand it's a bit of a ghost town. Change it back, just police the members who take advantage of it.
Other sites have places to advertise if I so wish.

The leaving ads active longer would be better. The page listing went from piles of pages to just a few. I believe many would look through up to ten pages if a new need arose and they use BT to find something. A week or whatever it is seems way too short.

Well,
Ads now run 2 weeks instead of 1 and you can find all unsold ads in the Bartertown Landfill thread and all sold ads in the Completed Bartertown thread. The Equipment and Parts Sections are 5 pages long since we extended the time. I should know because I now do the maintenance!

I am planning on attending. I cannot get into Barter Town, But I have a Adcom GFA-555 I am not using, legendary amp, re-built by a member on the site with speaker relays so no danger to speakers on a failure. Ping me if your interested.

Yeah I am styll alive, looking 92 in the face but COPD kinda limits my being away from the house for any real length of time before the battery goes flat and that is the so-called double sized battery but I will be with y'all in spirit. Have fun!

I have a Yamaha K1000 cassette deck for which I will take any reasonable offer if someone can pick it up before the 6th as it is just gathering dust here. There is a Rega Planar 2 as well with adifferent arm but I believe Jim was thinking of taking it.

just looked in the shop and the box says it is a Rega RB300 arm but the extra special main balance weightI believe was for the Origin arm if memory serves. Whatever t is not the original Rega Planar 2 arm oh yeah I also replaced the original feet waith Audio Technica adjustable acoustic feet so I am not quite sure what to call it now.

Been a lot of excitement at Casa Blackshaw as on of the freezers quit and I had three different vendors tell me it was not possible to bring the dead one p and take the new one down to the laundry area. Finally had home despot leave the new on in the front hall and found some real men to bring out the old and put in the new one.

Oh yeah had my booster booster shot and flu shot as well and now it seems we will be doing this every year. Hope they don't bring Ebola ve here as I have run out of arms and I am afraid we will be hearing the lady say please bend over.
